I've decided to include more posts about my photography, since that is my new passion. Writing hasn't taken a back seat. The two sit comfortably side by side, but photography is strapped into a child safety seat cause it's still a baby. Look at me, I'm clever.
Those who follow me on flickr know that I try to do one self portrait a day, which I also fail at. Whatever, don't judge me! I am pretty proud of how far along I've progressed as a photographer over the course of the last year. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to photograph with, which means everything I know is based off reading on the internet along with trial and error. That's how I approach almost everything I get into. It takes me longer, but I can say it's all based on my efforts and no one else's.
So, coupled with my rants about Geekdom, ramblings about writing, I add talk about my photography. I'm not going to talk about my photography in the order in which it occured, that's too regimented for me. Just ask Canete, I don't like solid planning, that simply makes too much sense.
So today I start with a photo I took last night.

I just got my wireless flash trigger in the mail and decided to give it a run through. I couldn't get the flash to sync up with my shutter and was getting a ton of photos that were simply too dark to see a damn thing. I figured out the problem earlier today, but I'll spare you the technical details.
This image was more of a fortunate accident than a planned shot. Went into Lightroom to do some post-processing and here's the finished product. Yes, I cropped out my ugly grey fleece pants, so between you and me, I'm not wearing ugly pants, I might not even be wearing any pants, who can tell?
On a side note to all my friends who live close by, if you ever need pictures taken just give me a shout. I'm more than happy to take pictures of someone other than myself. As long as you don't mind me blogging about it and sticking it on flickr for all the internets to see. Ok, now back to cleaning up my apartment.
